Former Winfield Fire Deputy Chief Charged with Forgery for Providing Fake College Diploma
Bryan Lewis of Wheaton was a 17-year veteran of the fire protection district. He has been charged with official misconduct and forgery.

WINFIELD, IL - A former Winfield Fire Protection District deputy fire chief has been charged forgery and official misconduct for allegations he presented his boss with a fake college diploma earlier this year, according to the Daily Herald.
A fire district attorney did not provide a direct answer on why Bryan Lewis, of the 1900 block of Richton Drive in Wheaton, provided a fake diploma from Triton College from May 1995 to Chief Phillip DeMenza on Feb. 5, but did say there are “often promotional or participatory opportunities that arise within the district that call for documentation of one form or another,” the Daily Herald reports.
Lewis is free on a $10,000 bond.
