Fuel Tank Ruptures, Fire Destroys 4 Cars Parked In Lot In Warrenville

WARRENVILLE, IL — Four cars were destroyed after a fire broke out in a parking lot on Winfield Road Tuesday afternoon.

Firefighters were called to the 4200 block of Winfield Road for a report that a car was ablaze. When they arrived at the scene, they found three cars consumed by flames. The fire caused a fuel tank to rupture on one of the cars, which prompted crews to use fire foam to fully put out the blaze.

No one was hurt in the fire, which also damaged a fourth car. The cause of the blaze is being investigated by the Warrenville Fire Protection District.
