Fun Run In Color Planned For April 13 In Wheaton
Race day kicks off at 8:30 a.m. and features live DJ music and an after-party.
WHEATON, IL -- Now that the weather is getting more pleasant outside, nature is showing off her brilliant natural colors. Bright colors will fill the air of Memorial Park on April 13, but these colors will be in the form of bursts of colorful powder that shower runners in the city's annual Fun Run In Color.
Race day begins at 8:30 a.m. and day-long festivities include DJ music, giveaways, and an after party.
The race itself involves runners being doused in bright orange, pink, blue, and green powders along the race route. The powders are made with biodegradable cornstarch and runners are encouraged to wear white or light-colored clothing to show off the array of colors they'll bring to the finish line.

Race officials say the colors are not toxic and come off easily in the laundry.
Proceeds from the Fun Run In Color will be used to help fund local Rotary and Park District initiatives. These include the Play For All Playground & Garden Foundation, which helps support sensory playgrounds and more accessible play environments.
