Gallery 200 showcases the amazing and diverse artworks of Kathy Steere as the July Featured Artist of the Month. Feathers and Foods will open with a reception on July 3, from 6-9 PM.
Summer is food, with corn and barbecues. Summer is outdoors, with sun, birds, and our feathered friends. In her captivating and colorful summer show, Kathy investigates “Feathers and Foods” in a riotously colorful display. She uses a variety of media to depict the theme - from acrylic paint to water-soluble crayons (not quite a-z), as well as some unexpected vehicles. Realistic to whimsical, with a little practical thrown in, this show reinforces that there are indeed many facets to Kathy Steere.
Kathy Steere is a beloved Gallery 200 artist. In a quote from the Daily Herald, Kathy says “she prefers variety, that she would rather create art as she sees it than be tied to one medium as a specialty.” She goes on to say that “art should be fun – fun to make, fun to look at, fun to have around!”
