Glenbard West Parents Speak Out After Student Athletes Face Suspensions
Several student-athletes were busted at drinking parties this past summer, according to the Daily Herald.

Several Glenbard West parents are expected to speak out during a District 87 school board meeting Monday after they believe the school district unfairly suspended student athletes following a party hosted by a student in late June where there was alcohol and no parents present, according to the Daily Herald.
Around 30 students from Glenbard West were disciplined this summer--some suspended from 20 percent of an athletic season and others suspended for a full season --after being caught attending one or more drinking parties, according to the article.
Parents are upset over how the situations were handled, stating the assistant principal of athletics Joe Kain called students into his office trying to get them to “rat out” other friends who were at the June party, the Daily Herald reports. One parent said the way the athletic code is being used will encourage students to “either never go anywhere or run if the cops show up so you don’t get on ’the list,’” according to the article.
