Grandpa Survives Hit-and-Run Crash While Mowing Son's Lawn in West Chicago
A neighbor's security camera captured the crash and police hope the video will help track down a suspect.

grandfather to 15 was mowing his son’s lawn in West Chicago on Friday when a minivan veered off the road and hit him, knocking him down before speeding off, ABC 7 Chicago reports.
Guadalupe Ballinas was bruised but not seriously injured and was able to get up and walk into his son’s West Chicago home after being knocked out for about three minutes, a neighbor, Lettecia Salinas, told ABC 7 Chicago. A security camera at Salinas’ home also captured video of the disturbing crash.
The incident happened in the 1000 block of Joliet Street at about 4:30 p.m. Friday. West Chicago police are now reviewing the security camera footage with the hopes of tracking down the driver in the hit and run, according to NBC Chicago.
