How To Recycle Electronics, Cooking Oil In Wheaton
Wheaton Public Works Storage Yard accepts electronic items and cooking oil for recycling the second Saturday of each month.

WHEATON, IL — The holiday season is a great time to get rid of old stuff to make room for new stuff. On Saturday, Wheaton residents can recycle used electronics and cooking oil at the city's Public Works Storage Yard, located at 820 W. Liberty Dr.
Collection will be open from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The list of items that can be recycled for no cost on Saturday include:
- Video game systems
- Stereo systems
- Cameras
- Computers/computer equipment
- Telephones/cellphones
- Copy/fax machines
- Power tools
- Microwaves and other small kitchen appliances
- Fluorescent tube lights
- Scrap metal
- Cooking oil
Some electronic items are not able to be accepted for free. These items include:

- TVS and computer monitors with screens less than 21 inches ($25 fee)
- TVs and computer monitors with screens 21 inches or more ($35 fee)
These recycling collections take place the second Saturday of every month at Wheaton's Public Works Storage Yard. Residents can also recycle most electronic items by attaching the appropriate number of garbage stickers and leaving them curbside on their designated garbage collection day.
