It’s Starting to Look a Bit Like Christmas in Downtown Wheaton
The holiday tree went up in downtown Wheaton this past week. Meanwhile, parade entries are sought for the Lighted Holiday Parade.

WHEATON, IL - Prep work is underway to get downtown Wheaton sparkling for the holidays.
On Thursday morning, public works crews put up the city’s Christmas tree in Martin Memorial Plaza in downtown Wheaton. City officials shared a photo of the tree going up on the city's Twitter page.

Parade Entries Sought for Lighted Holiday Parade
The Downtown Wheaton Association is accepting parade entries for the Lighted Holiday Parade through Nov. 16. The parade is held the day after Thanksgiving on Friday, Nov. 25.

The Downtown Wheaton Association is inviting community organizations, churches, musical groups, scout troops, nonprofits and Wheaton businesses to be part of the parade. Your group can walk, march, bicycle, ride in vehicles, or have a float in the parade. There is no charge for groups to participate, but you must contact the Downtown Wheaton Association by Nov. 16 at 630-682-0633 or paula@downtownwheaton.com.
The parade steps off at 6 p.m. on Nove. 25. The parade is staged on Wheaton Avenue by city hall and along Karlskoga Street. The parade proceeds south on Wheaton Avenue, east on Front Street and ends at Cross Street and Front Street.
