Judge Charged With Reckless Conduct Asks For Speedy Trial
DuPage County Judge Patrick O'Shea will appear for a bench trial in early January.

WHEATON, IL — A DuPage County judge who was charged with reckless conduct and stripped of his duties has asked for a speedy trial. Judge Patrick O'Shea, 67, will appear before a Kane County Judge on Jan. 4 in connection with a Sept. incident in which he allegedly fired a gun inside his home.
O'Shea was charged with reckless conduct after his neighbors in the 200 block of Willow Road found a bullet in their living room and a hole in their wall, which is on the other side of O'Shea's wall.
When asked about the bullet hole, O'Shea told more than one story, according to police reports. At one point, O'Shea allegedly blame the bullet hole on a screw driver that went through the wall as he tried to hang a picture. Later, he told property management his son had made the hole with an air gun, police reports say.
