Kitchen Fire Leaves Home Uninhabitable In Wheaton
A fire broke out in the kitchen of a home on Franklin Street late Saturday morning.
WHEATON, IL — A Wheaton family and their pets safely escaped a fire that left their home uninhabitable late Saturday afternoon.
Firefighters were called to the 300 block of East Franklin Street around 11:40 a.m. for a report of a fire. When fire crews got to the scene, they discovered the family had already gotten out of the house.
Roughly 30 firefighters arrived to battle the blaze, which was mostly confined to the home's kitchen. Crews remained on the scene until after 12:30 p.m. The cause of the fire was not available as of Monday morning.
