Man Beat Girlfriend, Hit 2 Cop Cars In West Chicago: Police
Reginald Hubbert, 40, of Indiana, is accused of hitting his girlfriend over 100 times with a belt and then leading cops on a car chase.

WEST CHICAGO, IL — An Indiana man was arrested in West Chicago Wednesday after he was accused of beating his girlfriend 100 times with a belt, and then hitting two squad cars while he led police on a high-speed chase.
Reginald Hubbert, 40, of Merrillville, was charged with domestic battery and aggravated fleeing and eluding in connection with the incident.
Police were called to the Speedway on Roosevelt and Washington in West Chicago just before 11 a.m. Wednesday for a report of a woman who had been the victim of domestic abuse. According to prosecutors, Hubbert and the woman got into a verbal fight and he hit her with a belt for "several hours," striking her around 100 times.

The woman fled to the the gas station to call police, who say they also found Hubbert at the gas station. Hubbert is accused of driving away when officers approached his vehicle.
Police pursued Hubbert and report that he refused to pull over and hit speeds of 70 mph in a zone with a 35 mph speed limit. He is accused of hitting a West Chicago police car and a Warrenville squad car during the chase.

Hubbert was taken into custody after stopping on I-88.
"It is alleged that a verbal argument between Mr. Hubbert and his girlfriend turned physical resulting in Mr. Hubbert administering an hours-long, vicious beating with a belt," DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said in a news release.
Berlin added, "It is further alleged that in an attempt to avoid responsibility for his actions, Mr. Hubbert displayed a complete lack of respect for the law and public safety by leading police on a high-speed chase along a busy roadway. In DuPage County, we have zero tolerance for domestic violence as well as the total disregard for the safety of the motoring public and anyone accused of such actions will be arrested, charged and vigorously prosecuted.A"
Hubbert is currently being held in DuPage County Jail on $200,000 bond. He is set to appear in court on Feb. 9 to be arraigned.
