Man Flees DuPage Courthouse While On Trial For Fleeing, Eluding

He was ultimately found guilty in the first case, in which he fled at speeds of up to 120 mph.

DUPAGE COUNTY, IL — The DuPage County Sheriff's Office is searching for a Chicago man who reportedly fled the county courthouse while he was on trial for a 2018 case in which he was charged with fleeing and eluding. Police issued a no-bond arrest warrant for Kary Bush, 37, of the 6400 block of Oakley Avenue, Chicago, adding that Bush left while the jury was deliberating his 2018 fleeing and eluding case.

Bush was ultimately found guilty, authorities say. He was initially charged with aggravated fleeing and eluding for a 2018 incident in which he was clocked going as fast as 120 mph on I-88.

DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said, "The allegations that Mr. Bush decided to leave the Courthouse just prior to a jury returning a guilty verdict are outrageous."

Berlin added that the "alleged actions, coupled with the fact that Mr. Bush was out on bond while his case was pending demonstrate this defendant’s complete disregard for the rule of law."
