Man Hit by Car, Killed While Crossing Route 59 in Warrenville

The accident happened Thursday night.

A 56-year-old Warrenville man was killed after being hit by a car while crossing Route 59 near Continental Drive in Warrenville Thursday night, according to the Daily Herald.

James C. Marlowe was taken to Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield where he was later pronounced dead, the newspaper reports. The accident happened at about 8:49 p.m. when a Ford Escort, which was traveling south on Route 59, struck Marlowe who was crossing the road.

Police are continuing to investigate the death and the driver of the car, who has been identified only as an adult woman, has not been cited, the Chicago Tribune reports.
