Man Overdoses On Way To Court Date, Police Revive Him With Narcan
A sheriff's deputy helped save a man who overdosed outside the DuPage County Court House on his way to a court date.

WHEATON, — A DuPage County Deputy Sheriff used Narcan to save a man who overdosed on his way to a court date Thursday. The man was found unresponsive in his vehicle at the DuPage County Government Complex after just having overdosed on heroin.
The deputy made a call for backup and was assisted by the county's Patrol Division and Corrections Bureau, according to a statement. Officers administered a dose of Narcan, but it had no effect on the victim. CPR was administered until the Wheaton Fire Department arrived to provide the life-saving dose of Narcan.
In response to the incident, DuPage County Undersheriff Frank Bibbiano said, "We are extremely proud of the deputies from all three bureaus of the Sheriff’s Office for their quick thinking and team work, which led to the life of a victim of opioid use being saved.” He went on to stress the importance of Narcan and of public education about opioid use victims.
