WHEATON, IL - The DuPage County Sheriff’s Office will release “new DNA-related information” regarding the case of a baby left abandoned in a private driveway near Wheaton during a press conference this week, authorities announced Monday.

The information is “related to the possible identities” of the abandoned baby’s parents and “may be crucial in locating the mother and father of Baby Hope,” Dawn Domrose, public information officer for the sheriff’s office, said in a Monday news release.

Baby Hope, the name authorities gave to the currently unidentified infant, was found on Aug. 15 by landscapers on a private drive in the area of the 25W400 block of Plamondon Drive in unincorporated Wheaton. The baby's body was in a black Everest brand backpack. Since then, authorities have been working to track down the baby's parents.
