If your property is included in the work area, Nicor has provided you with a notice of the upcoming work, according to the news release.
This project includes identifying the location of underground utilities, digging an area approximately every 500 feet to install a new natural gas main (an underground pipe supplying homes with natural gas), connecting service lines to the new gas main, abandoning the old main and restoring landscape and pavement. If your home is part of the work area, your gas service will be briefly interrupted as Nicor transfers your connection to the new main, according to the news release.
Crews will return within a few weeks to restore parkway landscapes.
