North Main Street Construction Gets Underway This Week

North Main Street between Cole Avenue and Geneva Road will be under construction starting the week of Aug. 31.

This work will include replacing some curb and gutter, a few storm and sanitary structures, and the top surface of the pavement along this section of roadway.

“Unlike previous projects along Main Street, this project will be completed in phases to allow for two-way traffic,” according to the city of Wheaton news release.

The city will work with the contractor to adjust signal timings at the intersection of Cole Avenue and access to businesses and apartments will not be affected as construction will be phased to accommodate traffic into and out of those locations.

The project is expected to wrap up by early November.
