Pavement Repairs to Close Lanes in DuPage County

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area.

Pavement patching problems will require lane closures on various state routes in Cook and DuPage counties beginning Aug. 8, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.

The following locations will require closure of a single lane for several days in each lane and closure of two lanes during off-peak hours:

  • Roosevelt Road (Illinois 38) from Nicoll Way to Lincoln Avenue in Glen Ellyn and Lombard
  • North Avenue (Illinois 64) from Franciscan Avenue to Forest Avenue in Carol Stream, Glendale Heights and West Chicago
  • Illinois 59 from 81st Street to the DuPage/Will County Line in Aurora and Naperville

The following location will require overnight lane closures while patching and resurfacing work is being performed:

  • Lake Street (eastbound U.S. 20) from County Line Road to Railroad Avenue in Elmhurst and Northlake

The improvements consist of pavement repairs at each location for several weeks at a time. The project is expected to be completed in Fall 2016.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
