The planned protest and march that began at 2:00 p.m. today at Adams Park has concluded, and this peaceful event occurred without incident. The protest travelled along sidewalks through the downtown, returned to Adams Park and concluded at approximately 4:40 p.m.

The City of Wheaton and the Wheaton Police Department respect the right of people to assemble peacefully. The participants met the City’s expectation for a peaceful gathering. Wheaton Police had been in contact with organizers before the event and provided a presence at the event to ensure everyone’s safety.

We appreciate the cooperation of participants in helping ensure this was a peaceful gathering.
