Planned Protest Walk Concludes 'Without Incident'
No incidents were reported at the planned protest walk that began and ended at the Wheaton Public Library parking lot Thursday evening.

The planned protest walk that began and ended at the Wheaton Public Library parking lot earlier this evening has concluded, and this peaceful event occurred without incident. The protest, "Wheaton Walks for Racial Justice," travelled along a planned route through the downtown and surrounding area before concluding back at the library by approximately 7:00 p.m.

The City of Wheaton and the Wheaton Police Department respect the right of people to assemble peacefully. The participants met the City’s expectation for a peaceful gathering. Wheaton Police had been in contact with organizers before the event and provided a presence at the event to ensure everyone’s safety.
