UPDATE: Man Who Crashed Into West Chicago Garage Airlifted to Hospital
The accident happened at 9:30 a.m. Friday morning, according to media reports.

A man has been airlifted to a suburban hospital after driving his vehicle through a West Chicago garage Friday morning.
Police responded at 9:37 a.m. and found the man’s Nissan 4-door sedan upside down and partially inside a detached garage near the intersection of Colford and Oakwood Avenue in West Chicago, according to West Chicago Police.

The man became trapped in his vehicle and needed to be extricated. He was taken by helicopter to Good Samaritan Hospital. His condition was not immediately known.
Police said the accident occurred when the man was traveling south on Oakwood Avenue, drove onto the property, struck the side of the house and then continued through the garage.

No one was home at the time of the accident and no other injuries have been reported.
The accident remains under investigation. The city of West Chicago’s Community Development Department building inspector will make a determination as to the habitability of the house.

ORIGINAL ARTICLE: A car traveling at 100 mph crashed into a West Chicago home Friday morning, according to WGN TV.
The vehicle landed upside down after crashing into the garage at 400 Coleford and at least one person has been rescued from the vehicle, the TV station is reporting .
The crash happened at 9:30 a.m. Friday, the Daily Herald reports. A helicopter has been called to the scene of the accident to fly the driver of the vehicle to a hospital after he has been freed from the wreckage, according to the Daily Herald.
