Possible Mountain Lion Sighting In Wheaton: Police
Police say the wild animal was spotted in someone's backyard.

WHEATON, IL — Police in Wheaton responded to a report of a possible mountain lion sighting in a resident's backyard Saturday afternoon. The animal was spotted around 1 p.m. in the 500 block of E. Ranch Road, according to police.
When police got to the scene, they say they searched the area, but did not locate the animal in question.
According to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, there are no existing populations of mountain lions in Illinois, but that doesn't mean it's impossible to spot "individual examples" of them on occasion.
