Purse Snatched, Catalytic Converters Cut: Wheaton Crime Blotter

WHEATON, IL — A woman's purse was snatched and three catalytic converters were stolen from cars, according to the Wheaton Police Department's crime blotter through Oct. 17.

Purse Stolen in 2100 block of Roosevelt Road

A woman told police that someone pulled her purse off her shoulder as she was making her way into her building. The theft took place just before 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 17.

Catalytic Converter Stolen in 1st block of Wheaton Center

The owner of a Toyota Sequoia told police the catalytic converter was cut from their vehicle sometime between 6 p.m. Oct. 12 and 4 a.m. Oct. 13.

Catalytic Converter Stolen At Carlton Auto Parts

Police say someone removed the catalytic converter from a Honda Element while it was parked in the parking lot at Carlton Auto Parts, 519 S. Carlton Ave. The theft took place at approximately 3:14 a.m., according to the Wheaton Police Department's crime blotter.

Catalytic Converter Stolen in 2000 block of Roosevelt Road

A catalytic converter was cut from a Hyundai Tucson while it was parked in a lot at the above address, police say. The incident took place sometime between 9 p.m. Oct 14 and 7 a.m. Oct. 15.
