'Racially Hateful Graffiti' Under Investigation At Wheaton North
School officials say the graffiti was discovered "several weeks ago."

WHEATON, IL — Administrators at Wheaton North High School sent an email to parents Tuesday addressing what they described as "racially hateful graffiti" that was found in a bathroom on the school's campus. According to the email, the graffiti was found "several weeks ago" and school officials are still trying to determine who is responsible.
In the email to parents, Wheaton North High School Principal Matt Biscan wrote,
"I’m sharing this information with you as some social media posts have been circulating inside and outside of our school community. This has perpetuated a hateful message that we do not tolerate.
This type of language does not represent the school culture we strive for at Wheaton North. On a daily basis, we work very hard to ensure that we are creating and sustaining an inclusive culture where all children feel safe, supported and connected.
Over the past 2 years, this has been a staff focus and we’ve been working with each other and with students to achieve this vision.
We encourage parents to talk with your children about how insensitive and hateful it is to use this type of language. We encourage students to come forward if they have any information about the source of this graffiti or any other racially hateful graffiti. Thank you for your efforts and cooperation."
Biscan's email about the"racially hateful grafitti" came a day before news broke that a group of seven girls face felony mob action charges for what police described as a "pre-meditated brawl" at the school.
