Retail Theft, Stolen Bikes, Disposal Company Impersonation Scam: Wheaton Crime Blotter

WHEATON, IL — Wheaton police recently responded to reports of a retail theft, two stolen bikes and a scam in which someone posed as a representative from a disposal company, according to the department's most recent crime blotter.

Alcohol Stolen from Walgreens

A man came into the Walgreens at 1601 Main St. on May 25 just after 9 p.m. and stole liquor.

Bikes Stolen from Front Street Train Depot

Two bikes were reported stolen from the Front Street Train Depot between May 21 and May 22. Police say one of the bikes had been secured to a rack when it was stolen and the other had not been locked.

Disposal Company Impersonation Scam

A resident told police they got a call from someone who claimed to be a representative with a disposal company. The caller deceived the victim into sending money, the police report said. The incident took place on May 14.
