Thief Gropes Victim, Steals Phone In Wheaton: Cops

He allegedly made sexual comments to the victim before taking the phone.

WHEATON, IL — A Wheaton man was arrested Sunday after he allegedly grabbed a victim inappropriately at Northside Park and then stole their phone. Salvadore Manuel Silva, 37, of the 1300 block of Main St., was charged with theft, battery, and disorderly conduct in connection with the incident.

Police say the incident took place in the park at 1300 N. West St. around 6:30 p.m. The victim told police that Silva touched them inappropriately and made sexual comments before stealing their cellphone.

Silva is currently being held at DuPage County Jail.
