Three Upcoming Wheaton Park District Programs

Pick a pottery class, make some magic, and prowl for owls next week.

1. Pick a pottery class. Pottery is found across history, from societies as old as 29,000 B.C. through today, where it thrives in almost every culture. Participate in this tradition every Wednesday, November 16 through December 14, with Adult Pottery Wheel! Learn to use a pottery wheel as you create unique clay bowls, mugs, and vases. Choose from more than 15 colors of glaze to match your style or make the perfect gift. All student levels welcome. Class meets at the Wheaton Park District Community Center (1777 S. Blanchard St.). Last class is for project pick-up. Register online for 5:45-7P or 7:15-8:30P.

2. Make some magic. Your kids are guaranteed to have a great time as they learn fascinating and mesmerizing tricks from the Magic Team of Gary Kantor at Magic, November 18, 6:45-7:40P! Amaze family and friends with tricks involving cards, ropes, coins, mind-reading, and more. All materials are provided and each child receives a magic kit to take home. Children are grouped by age and learn age-appropriate tricks. Ages 5 to 14 years. Class meets at the Wheaton Park District Community Center (1777 S. Blanchard St.). Register online.

3. Prowl for owls. Whoooo do you think calls Lincoln Marsh (Harrison & Pierce Aves.) home? Find out at Owl Prowl, November 19, 5:30-7P! Learn owling techniques, hit the trails in search of these magnificent nocturnal predators, and end around a campfire with hot chocolate. Recommended for ages 6 and up. Children must be accompanied by a registered adult. Register online.
