#Top3Thursday at Wheaton Park District: November 17, 2016
Bring in the harvest, visit Cosley Zoo's five acres of cheer, and make a craft with Santa next week.

1. Bring in the harvest. School's out for Thanksgiving! But how much do you know about the people who celebrated the first Thanksgiving? Travel back in time and learn about Native Americans and settlers as you play their games, make their toys, and tell their stories at Harvest Happenings, November 21-22, 9A-3:30P at the Northside Park Girl Scout Cabin (1300 N. West St.). Recommended for ages 5 to 9. Register online.
2. Five acres of cheer. Lights. Trees. Holiday gifts. Hot chocolate. Welcome to Cosley Zoo's Festival of Lights and Tree Sales. See more than 20,000 twinkling lights forming themed displays of birds, insects, reindeer, rabbits, and other scenes from nature; shop for holiday gifts; purchase a tree for your living room; and watch the animals frolic through the winter air November 25-December 30, 9A-9P. Admission is free for everyone; donations are greatly appreciated. Cosley Zoo (1356 N. Gary Ave.) is closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day, and open 9A-12P Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. Learn more.
3. Santa. During the Festival of Lights and Tree Sales (which you may remember from above), the Big Man himself visits Cosley Zoo (1356 N. Gary Ave.) November 26 and December 3 and 10, 10A-2P for Santa's Craft Corner. Families can take a picture with Santa in the Vern Kiebler Learning Center (the big red barn on the west side of the zoo). While visiting with St. Nick, make a craft and enjoy some refreshments, too! No registration required. $5 donation per family. $3 per printed photo. Learn more.
