Trash Collection Rates To Increase Oct. 1 In Wheaton

Customers in Wheaton will notice an increase in their trash, yard waste and recycling collection rates starting Oct. 1.

WHEATON, IL — Wheaton residents will notice an increase in their trash, yard waste and recycling rates starting Oct. 1.

The change comes after Wheaton city officials inked a three-year extension to their contract with LRS in 2021. Increases will take effect in the second and third years of the contract, which begin Oct. 1, 2022, and Oct. 1, 2023, respectively.

The following prices will take effect Oct. 1, 2022:

Garbage Pickup

  • 35 gallons: $3.11
  • 65 gallons: $4.39
  • 95 gallons: $5.20

Recycling Pickup

As of Oct. 1, 2023, the following prices will be in effect:

  • 95 gallons: $5.31

  • 35 gallons: $2.08
  • 65 gallons: $2.86
  • 95 gallons: $3.38
