Unemployment Card Fraud On Rise: DuPage County Sheriff's Office
A growing number of residents have received prepaid unemployment cards unexpectedly in the mail, according to the sheriff's office.
DUPAGE COUNTY, IL — The DuPage County Sheriff's Office is warning residents of a new scam that involves prepaid unemployment cards.
According to the sheriff's office, a growing number of residents have unexpectedly received prepaid unemployment cards that claim to be from the Illinois Department of Employment Security.
If you receive such a card and you have not applied for unemployment, the sheriff's office recommends that you do not activate the card. Instead, residents are advised to call 630-407-2400 to report a possible identity theft.

Residents who receive the cards and have not filed for unemployment are also advised to contact the Illinois Department of Employment Security, along with their current employer's human resources department, to report the incident.
