Warrenville Declares Local State Of Emergency

Officials said the declaration will "allow the City to take measures to help slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19)."

WARRENVILLE, IL — Warrenville Mayor Dave Brummel has declared a state of emergency for the city amid ongoing coronavirus fears and closures. In a news release officials said the declaration would "allow the City to take measures to help slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19)."

The declaration also "enables the city to receive potential federal and state disaster funding and allows for greater flexibility in staffing and work schedules to maintain essential services," according to the news release.

Some of the current measures the city is enacting include, but are not limited to:

  • suspending all non-essential public meetings (not including committee or city council meetings)
  • postponing the Arbor Day event
  • suspending the use of City meeting rooms by the public through April 30
