Warrenville Man Wins Big in Lottery Drawing
The grocery store worker won an $800,000 lottery prize this past week.

A grocery store worker from Warrenville received a pleasant surprise this past week when his wife called to tell him he’d won an $800,000 lottery jackpot.
“She was so excited that I couldn’t understand what she was saying. When I heard her say $800,000 my hands started shaking and I almost dropped the phone,” said Mario Chavez, 43. His quick pick ticket matched all five numbers in the Lucky Day Lotto drawing on Aug. 7.
Chavez, who is originally from Mexico, said he plans to use his winnings to pay bills and buy a new house for his wife and three children. Chavez moved to the U.S. when he was 17 years old and currently resides in Warrenville.
