Watch Wheaton Sisters Dance On 'Ellen' After Cancer Relapse

The sisters performed an interpretive dance and spoke about the youngest battling cancer.

WHEATON, IL — Since Ava Blaser was 3 years old, life has been something like unchoreographed dance that she's adapted to at every turn. Blaser, 10, who has been using dance to help in her battle stage five kidney cancer since for more than six years, recently had a relapse that doctors said could leave her unable to dance. Blaser shattered that challenge when she recently performed an interpretive dance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" with her older sister, Emma, 16.

After the sisters moved audience members to tears with their emotional performance to Coldplay's "Fix You," they told Ellen that doctors found a cancerous spot on Ava's kidney in January. As of Sept. 11, though, she's been cancer free.

The sisters spoke with Ellen about the challenges they have been facing and how their love of dance has enhanced their relationship. “It really distracts me from everything that’s going on," Ava said.

DeGeneres gave the girls a check for $20,000 to help them pay for college and Ava's ongoing medical expenses.

Their dance, which brought the audience to their feet, quickly went viral. The performance ended with Ava jumping into Emma's arms as Coldplay sang, "Lights will guide you home/And ignite your bones/And I will try to fix you."
