West Chicago Man Sentenced To 7 Years For Child Sexual Assault

WEST CHICAGO, IL — A West Chicago man has been sentenced to seven years in prison for predatory criminal sexual assault. Fernando Silva, 65, of the 100 block of Blair Street, pleaded guilty to the felony charge on Nov. 22, 2019, according to the Kane County State's Attorney's Office.
Silva was accused of having sexual content with a minor under the age of 13, whom he knew, in 2018.
Silva will get time served for the 780 days he has been in the Kane County Jail. He must serve 85 percent of his sentence before he becomes eligible for parole and will have to register as a sex offender for the remainder of his life.
