The 28-year-old was found guilty of sexually assaulting two minor girls in 2012 and 2013.

A 28-year-old West Chicago man has been sentenced to 24 years in prison for sexually abusing two minor females.
A jury found Darinel Velazquez-Roblero guilty of two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault and three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse in April.
Prosecutors said Velazquez-Roblero sexually abused his victims on multiple occasions beginning in January 2012 and continuing through July 2013. The sexual abuse came to light when one of the victims alerted a trusted adult family member.

That family member contacted the West Chicago Police Department who in turn contacted the DuPage County Children’s Center. Velazquez-Roblero has remained in custody since his arrest on a $750,000 bond.
“Darinel Velazquez-Roblero is a dangerous sexual predator who has certainly earned his prison sentence,” said DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin. “It is my sincerest hope that these two young girls fully recover from the emotional and physical harm Mr. Velazquez-Roblero has inflicted upon them.”
