Wheaton Attorney Elected to Board of Governors of Illinois State Bar Association

The ISBA 27-member board oversees the operations and activities of the statewide organization.

Kent A. Gaertner, principal at Kent A. Gaertner P.C. and of counsel with Springer Brown, LLC in Wheaton, has been elected to the Board of Governors of the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA). The 27-member board oversees the operations and activities of the statewide organization.

Mr. Gaertner concentrates his practice in bankruptcy law and workouts. Active in the ISBA, he is an elected member of its Assembly, and member of the Commercial Banking, Collections and Bankruptcy Section Council, and Standing Committee on Marketing and Communications.

He is a past president of the DuPage County Bar Association, past member of its Executive Committee and Board of Directors, and was a four-time chair of the Bankruptcy Committee. A past president of the DuPage County Bar Foundation and former member of its Board of Directors, he currently serves as a hearing officer with the Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Committee. He also holds memberships with the Kane County Bar Association, DuPage County Justinian Society of Lawyers, and DuPage Association of Women Lawyers.

He received a B.A. degree from Carthage College in 1974, and a J.D. from Nova Southeastern University-Shepard Broad Law Center in 1977.

The 33,000-member ISBA (isba.org), with offices in Springfield and Chicago, provides professional services to Illinois lawyers, and education and services to the public through a website (illinoislawyerfinder.com), consumer brochures, and distribution of legal information.
