Wheaton Boy Scout Earns Eagle Rank
Nationally, only 5 percent of boy scouts achieve this rank.

Winfield Boy Scout Troop 575 has awarded the Eagle rank, which is scouting's highest honor, to Phil Felsenthal of Wheaton.
He is the 49th scout from the troop to be awarded this rank. Ceremonies were held at St. Matthew United Church of Christ in Wheaton.
The Eagle rank is the highest rank in Boy Scouts and nationally, only 5 percent of boy scouts achieve this rank.

As part of the award ceremony, Phil received letters of congratulations from President Obama, and The National Park Service.
"Scouting has shaped who I am and what I have become," Felsenthal said.

For his Eagle Project, Phil restored the children’s ministry room at St. Matthew’s Church UCC in Wheaton.
Phil is a 2016 graduate of Glenbard South High School. Phil has enlisted in the United States Navy where he plans to study submarine electronics and computers in preparation for a career in intelligence.
