Wheaton Church to Present Annual Concert of Handbells
Four bell ensembles, consisting of ringers aged 8 to adult, will perform a wide and diverse selection of popular hymns and secular music.
Continuing an annual tradition, Wheaton’s Gary United Methodist Church invites the community to “Crosswind, a Concert of Handbells,” Sunday, April 28 at 4:00 pm. Four bell ensembles, consisting of ringers aged eight to adult, will perform a wide and diverse selection of popular hymns and secular music. The performance will include “The Blue Danube,” “Hallelujah,” “Pirates of the Caribbean,” “This Little Light of Mine” and more. The featured selection will be Sondra Tucker’s energetic composition “Crosswind,” in which the mixed meter could represent the tempest caused by the crosswinds of life – physical, emotional, organizational and spiritual.A reception will follow the performance. The concert is free although donations will be accepted. Ample parking is available in the church lot and on nearby streets.
