Authorities told KARE 11 they had been called to the couple's Eden Prairie several times for domestic issues and Savenok was facing trial after being arrested for domestic assault.

While the couple lived in Wheaton in 2014, Lyuba had an order of protection taken out against her husband, according Fox 9. The DuPage County order of protection detailed incidents that occurred in August 2014 where Lyuba said her husband hit her during sex, wrestled and hit her repeatedly and pulled her up by her hair.

A candlelight vigil was held Sunday night in Chaska, Minn., in honor of Lyuba. Lyuba, who was pregnant with a third child, a boy, is being remembered as an amazing mother, “a dear daughter to her parents, an amazing sister to her siblings and a faithful friend to many,” according to a GoFundMePage set up to cover expenses for her funeral. The donations, which topped $50,000 as of Tuesday afternoon, would also help with costs to raise her two children, Matthew, 4, and Vivienne, 3.
