Wheaton Coronavirus Update: 5 Percent Increase In Past Week
As of Wednesday, Wheaton has seen 727 cases of coronavirus, according to the DuPage County Health Department.
WHEATON, IL — The number of coronavirus cases in Wheaton has increased by 5 percent in the past week, according to information from the DuPage County Health Department (DCHD).
As of Sept. 16, the city had reported 694 total cases of the new coronavirus. Those numbers had increased to 727 as of Sept. 23.

Wheaton has had 24 confirmed deaths since the county started tracking its coronavirus numbers, DCHD data shows.
According to the DCHD website, there were three active coronavirus cases in Wheaton as of Sept. 23. According to county health officials, these numbers could be "much higher" due to unreported cases.

In nearby Glen Ellyn, the number of coronavirus cases had increased by 3 percent. As of Sept. 16, there had been 517 cases reported in Glen Ellyn. The total number of cases reported in Glen Ellyn as of Sept. 23 was 534.

To date, there have been a total of three coronavirus-related deaths in the village, DCHD reports.
DuPage County was recently taken off the coronavirus "warning list" by Illinois Department of Public Health.
