Wheaton Council Prohibits E-Cigarettes, Vaping in Enclosed Public Places, Other Areas in City
Do you think e-cigarettes and vaping should be banned in certain areas of Wheaton?

The Wheaton City Council last week banned e-cigarettes and vaping in enclosed public places and other areas in the city, the Chicago Tribune reports.
The tobacco products will also be banned from places of employment, outdoor events and Adams and Memorial parks and also from public sidewalks that are within 25 feet of a public entrance, open-air dining areas and at outdoor venues during an outdoor event, according to the article.
The products can be used in tobacco or vaping retailers in Wheaton, according to the newspaper. Those using e-cigarettes or vaping in a prohibited area could face a fine of $100 to $250 per offense and owners, managers and operators that allow the tobacco products in prohibited area could face a fine of $250 or more for a first offense and at least $500 for the second violation within a year.
