Wheaton Firefighters Battle Second Townhome Fire In Less Than A Week
A townhome in the 1900 block of Wexford caught fire Monday, likely due to electrical issues with landscaping lighting.

WHEATON, IL — A townhome caught fire early Monday afternoon in the 1900 block of Wexford in Wheaton. When firefighters arrived at the scene, the flames had spread into the basement of the home.
Nearby fire crews aided the Wheaton Fire and Police Departments to contain the blaze within minutes, according to a release from the City of Wheaton. No one was inside the townhome during the time of the fire and no other homes or residents were harmed in the four-unit building. After an investigation, the Wheaton Fire Department determined that the fire started in the back of the home and was likely caused by an electrical issue with landscaping lighting.
No damage estimates were available at press time.
