Wheaton Local Artist Dick Dahlstrom Returns as Juried Artist to 13th Annual Lakeview East Festival of the Arts
Dahlstrom, a Wheaton resident, returns to the annual art festival in Chicago's Lakeview East
Local Wheaton artist Dick Dahlstrom returns as a juried artist to the 13th Annual Lakeview East Festival of the Arts. The official hours for the Lakeview East Festival of the Arts, located on Broadway Ave. from Belmont Ave. north to Hawthorne St., are Saturday, Sept. 9 from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. with additional hours for live music, food and drink tents until 10 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 10 from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Dahlstrom is a versatile artist from Wheaton who creates 3D vehicles from wood & plaster, 3D fish from cedar shingles and acrylic paintings. He has spent most of his life in the commercial art field, exhibiting his works in many galleries, art fairs and museums throughout the 1970's and 1980's and has since retired, returning to a painting focus. Dahlstrom's artwork has been exhibited in art fairs and galleries, mainly in the midwest, part of the collection of the Kenosha Museum, and private collections. The 2017 Lakeview East Festival of the Arts showcases more than 150-juried artists featuring world-class original paintings, sculpture, photography, furniture, jewelry and more. In addition to the diverse artists’ booths, the Festival also includes live music on multiple stages, an interactive children’s area, wine, beer and food booths, an interactive garden oasis and much more.
