Wheaton Man Dies Day After Falling Over Wrigley Field Railing
Richard Garrity, 42, of Wheaton died Wednesday, one day after tumbling over a railing at Wrigley Field. Police are investigating the matter.
WHEATON, IL — A Wheaton man has died a day after he fell over a railing at Wrigley Field Tuesday. Richard E. Garrity, 42, was pronounced dead Wednesday at 3:33 p.m. at Advocate Masonic Hospital, the Cook County Medical Examiner told Chicago Tribune.
Police said Garrity sustained head trauma after he fell over the safety railing around 11 p.m., shortly after the end of the Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds game. According to WGN, Garrity was in critical condition at Advocate Masonic after his fall.
Area North detectives are currently investigating Garrity’s fatal fall. More information about Garrity’s official cause of death will be available after his autopsy, which is scheduled for Thursday.
