Wheaton Metra Station To Stay Closed For Extensive Repairs

The Wheaton Metra station may be closed for more than a month as crews repair fire damage.

WHEATON, IL — The Wheaton Metra station may be closed for more than a month as crews work to repair damage from a Nov. 22 fire. The work will take place over the next 45 days, according to a release from the City of Wheaton. During this time, commuters must buy tickets by other means.

The city notes that the station bathrooms will still be available for commuters to use during the closure.

The repairs will begin once insurance representatives and fire officials finish their investigation. The city is working diligently with Metra and Union Pacific Railroad to expedite the repairs.
