Wheaton North Ranked as 35th Best High School in State

U.S. News and World Report released its annual best high schools list Monday.

WHEATON, IL - Wheaton North High School was ranked among the top 40 high schools in Illinois by U.S. News and World Report, which released its annual list Monday night.

Wheaton North was ranked 35th in the state and No. 932 nationally. Meanwhile, Wheaton-Warrenville High School did not make the annual Best High Schools list.

"The U.S. News rankings include data on more than 21,000 public high schools in 50 states and the District of Columbia," states U.S. News & World Report. "Schools were awarded gold, silver or bronze medals based on their performance on state assessments, their graduation rates and how well they prepare students for college."

In the state, Northside College Preparatory High Schoolcame in first. The No. 1 high school in the U.S. rankings is the School for the Talented and Gifted in Dallas, Texas. Adlai Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire was ranked as the best suburban high school in the state--coming in at No. 5 on the Best High Schools list.
