Wheaton Public Library Partners with SCARCE and Other Local Organizations to Educate Community on Water Conservation

Wheaton Public Library is partnering with SCARCE and other local organizations to educate community on water conservation throughout April

Wheaton Public Library is partnering with SCARCE, Aquascape, Inc., the City of Wheaton, Cantigny Park, and the Conservation Foundation to educate the community about the importance of water conservation and sustainability. Throughout the month of April, several rain barrels and watershed models will be displayed throughout Wheaton Public Library. The rain barrels, models, and informative displays are provided by the organizations involved.

The library will also be offering several free programs this spring focusing on ways the community can be more environmentally conscious, including topics like solar energy and planting a vegetable garden. In addition to informational programs, the library will feature two documentary screenings and nonfiction book discussions. For more information, please click here.

There will also be a drawing to give away a rain barrel, provided by the Wheaton Environmental Improvement Commission, to a Wheaton household. The rain barrel that will be given away is displayed at the front entrance of the library and Wheaton residents may each enter once per library visit. The winner will be chosen and notified after the display is taken down at the end of April.
