Wheaton To Ring In Holidays With Parade, Carriage Rides, Santa
Downtown Wheaton's holiday festivities include the annual parade on Nov. 24 and free horse-drawn carriage rides and Santa visits on Nov. 25.

WHEATON, IL — Downtown Wheaton will light up with a slew of holiday celebrations on Thanksgiving weekend. The festivities will begin with the annual holiday parade on Nov. 24, visits with Santa Claus, and stores adorned with glittering lights.
Wheaton Christmas Parade
The Wheaton Christmas Parade will kick off on Friday, Nov. 24, at 6 p.m. at the intersection of Wesley and Wheaton Avenues. Local marching bands, merchants, and other organization will have bring cheer to the parade, which will make its way south down Wheaton Ave. and turn east on Front St. The parade ends at the intersection of Front and Cross Streets and will feature an appearance by Santa Claus himself.

Visits With Santa Claus
Kids can have their first official visit with Santa Claus at Martin Memorial Plaza 134 W. Front St. on Saturday, Nov. 25 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The free visits will take place at Santa's red wooden "satellite" house and are sponsored by the Downtown Wheaton Association.

Martin Memorial Plaza is right between the Christmas tree downtown and the old train station.
Holiday Carriage Rides
While you're shopping downtown Wheaton for the holidays, why not take a ride on a horse-drawn carriage? Downtown Wheaton will offer free carriage rides on Saturday, Nov. 25 from 12 a.m. to 3 p.m. The festive horse-drawn carriages will take passengers past the trees and lit-up shop windows that embrace the holiday spirit in the heart of Wheaton.
