The National Merit scholarship program is an academic competition for recognition and scholarships.

Several Wheaton students have been named National Merit semifinalists.
Semifinalists from Wheaton North High School include Marissa Y. Annis, John M. Macy, Jonathan P. Myers, Jaimie K. Patterson, Grace Richards, Matthew B. Rogers, Sarah B. Shaffer, Catherine Watson and Matthew S. Yinen. Semifinalists from Wheaton Warrenville South High School are Drew P. Anderson, Edward D. Dreyer, Camille C. Farruggio and Jack T. Havey.

The National Merit scholarship program is an academic competition for recognition and scholarships. Semifinalists must advance to finalist standing in the competition by meeting high academic standard, receiving a recommendation from their principal and earning SAT scores that confirm the earlier qualifying test performance.
