Wheaton Warrenville South Co-op Wins First Regional Title
Sarah Bradley, Emily Cook and Sarah Deicke led the way for the winners who move on to the Lake Park sectional on Tuesday.
The blizzard of 2011 postponed Thursday's Wheaton Warrenville South regional to Saturday morning, but the delay did little to deter the hosts who won the regional convincingly with a 136.275. Oak Park and River Forest was the runner-up with a 128.9, followed by Addison Trail's 118.725 and DeKalb's 108.4.
(34.725), (34.625) and (33.650) finished in second, third and fourth place respectively to lead the winners.
Bradley and Cook tied for second place on vault with a 9.075.
Bradley, Cook and Deicke all had to count falls on beam, but because of their skill level, Deicke still took third with an 8.325 followed by Bradley's 8.3. led the team on beam with a second place finish of an 8.425.
Cook was also second on bars with an 8.5 and on floor with a 9.025.
Coach also praised the effort of junior Danielle Johnson, who wasn't one of the team's top scorers, but helped set the tone of the meet.
